Deneba announces National Prepress Center
and Service Bureau initiatives
Authorized national service bureau program supports
Canvas users
SEYBOLD WEST EXPOSITION, SAN FRANCISCO, CA. SEPTEMBER 11, 1996. -- Deneba
Software has announced the opening later this month of a national Prepresscenter
dedicated exclusively to serving the needs of Canvas users, and a national
Authorized Service Bureau program to help make Canvas the new standard for
high-quality Prepress production.
Deneba's Prepress center, will only accept Canvas 3.x and Canvas 5 documents.
The center will offer 24 hour turnaround service for 4-color film and match
prints when electronic files are sent to the Prepress center's FTP site,
or 36 hour express turnaround for larger files submitted in either Syquest,
Zip, Jazz, or CD-R format. The complete list of prices and optional services
will be posted on the Prepress section of Deneba's world wide web site by
September 15, 1996.
Deneba is also announcing the creation of
a "Deneba Authorized Service Bureau" program. This program
is dedicated to promoting the use of Canvas 5 among Prepress service providers
worldwide. The program features:
- Free or low cost software license of Canvas 5 for qualifying centers.
- Toll-free support number with expert personnel available to answer
Prepress specific questions. And when needed, access to the Deneba's own
Prepress center personnel.
- Dedicated e-mail support and automatic priority software updates.
- Local referral service through Deneba's world wide web site. Participating
service bureaus will be listed in Deneba's web site where Canvas users
requiring local Prepress services can search by region.
- Deneba Authorized centers will be actively promoted via direct-mail,
regional and national print media advertising at no cost.
- Employee purchase program, allowing participating service bureau employees
to purchase Canvas 5 at reduced prices direct from Deneba.
- Co-op advertising funds will also become available to qualifying service
bureaus.
"No one should doubt Deneba's commitment to the high-end market
with Canvas 5," said Manny Menéndez, president of Deneba Software.
"These programs have been designed to guarantee that anything created
using Canvas 5 can be taken to press reliably, economically and with the
highest quality, " Menéndez said.
"We realize that there is a lot of familiarity among designers and
Prepress service providers with the bugs and quirks of competing products.
This familiarity leads to a natural reluctance to try something new - even
if it's much better. Our approach is to bypass this reluctance immediately
with the availability of a specialized national service bureau dedicated
exclusively to Canvas, while working closely with all existing service bureaus
to promote the widespread adoption of Canvas 5. We want to remove every
obstacle that would slow the adoption of Canvas 5 as a Prepress standard,"Menéndez concluded.
