In an Atlantic type coastline the action of the sea creates bays, eroded out --- RECORDSEPARATOR --- of soft rock, between projecting headlands of harder rock (A). Then the --- RECORDSEPARATOR --- waves attack the headlands from both sides (B), forming caves, arches, and --- RECORDSEPARATOR --- sea stacks. Eventually the headlands are completely eroded away (C), --- RECORDSEPARATOR --- leaving a series of undulating cliffs.
