interface1.GIF (1002 bytes)"Natural Design Interface"
If you've got two hands - why not use them?

interface2.gif (2359 bytes)When looking at adding a modeling application to your tool set, the first question that you might ask is "Can this product do (fill in the blank)?". But another question that is just as important is: "How do I do it?"

Amapi 3D has a lot of features for modeling, but it is the "how" that makes the product popular. No other modeler delivers the Natural Design Interface of Amapi, making it possible for you to work with both hands, rapidly finding and using the modeling function that you need. Sure, you can use Amapi 3D in "standard" interface mode, but it is the Natural Design Interface that will help you get more done in less time - and better! On screen tools are combined with logical num/key-pad shortcuts, to let you move the model with arrow keys and use modeling tools with the mouse. Look mom! Two Hands!

To access each new tool palette (Total of 4!), you need only to wave your pointer to the right, out of the work area. And as soon as you select a tool, the palette goes away, freeing up the ENTIRE SCREEN for your modeling!

wireframe.GIF (10306 bytes) .. Wireframe vs. Wireshade Modeling
Amapi 3D now gives you the option of modeling in whatever display mode you prefer. On the left, you can see a complex wireframe model. On the right, we have the same model being displayed in wireshade mode. Notice how much easier it is to see the surface contours...a great option for organic modeling!

Skinning
Takes a set of open or close curves and generates a mesh between them. The most powerful tool for human face creation.

Surface Extraction
Builds off the surface of a model by creating new curves or surfaces from existing or imported polyhedral objects. You have total control to reshape them.

Smoothing 3D Hard Sharp Edges
Generates perfectly smooth meshes to get incredible realistic human faces and save hours of work.

Advanced Boolean Operations
Knowing what you would get with Boolean operators has always been a problem. With Amapi you get an interactive preview and instant "toggle" of all Boolean possibilities.  Just pick the one you want!

Handle NURBS Modeling with as much Finesse as Polygons
Amapi's NURBS mode generates a Spline control mesh and a control boundary box to interactively reshape your model. Amapi lets you work in NURBS as easily as you would simple polygons!

Free-Form Deformation
Create polygonal models with Amapi's interactive NURBS technology. Use the  NURBS 3D control to apply free-form local or global deformations on any polyhedral mesh.

Gordon Surfaces
Model rounded, natural organic shapes by creating a mesh (patched surface) over a set of an unlimited number of connected curves.

Extended Extrusion Tool
Extrudes any profile with a constant feedback while defining the height of the extrusion. You can turn your model around to evaluate the result before you validate. Extrusion is also available to extrude a shape over a profile, faces or an object. There are no limitations!

Interactive Fillet Tool
Generates smooth rounded fillet on edges, corners or shape intersections. No more messing around with bevels or re-touching corners in Photoshop after rendering!

Add Advanced Modeling Tools to 3D Studio Max
Unleash 3D Studio Max with the Amapi 3D "bridge", which connects Amapi directly into 3D Studio MAX's scene database.  Use Amapi to save time in the modeling step.   Also a more affordable "additional seat" tool - do more work at home!

Fully MicroScribe-3D Compatible
Use Amapi modeling tools on screen with the Immersion MicroScribe-3D digitizer with an interactive 3D viewing and save hours on modeling.

Animation Features

Bezier Motion Path Splines
Converts an easy-to-draw Bezier Spline to Motion Path. Define an axis or an object to set up the orientation followed by the object you animate. The object is directly assign to the Spline while key framing is automatically set up by the curve shape.

Camera and Light Animation
Use Bezier motion Path Splines to assign a trajectory to Lights and Cameras.

Morphing
One of the most impressive new features of Amapi 3D in animation. Simply transforms one object to an other.

Render Directly to Codec on Windows and QuickTime on Macintosh
Uses the most space-saving file formats and choose the output compression for the image quality you expect.
