Neuroscience
The range of disciplines that make up the neurosciences is
growing. What was first the study of brain and nerve tissues has
steadily widened to include brain anatomy, structure, and
chemistry, hemispheric studies of the left and right cortex,
artificial intelligence,brain development, perception, the
senses, learning, memory, cognition, brain disorders,
consciousness, etc. The proliferation of disciplines clustering
about the brain is testimony to the interconnection of the
scientific concerns in the same way the brain is an
interconnection of tissue and structures. Ask a question like:
"Why can't I remember being born," and each of these sub
disciplines are invoked. Each provides avenues of understanding
the others will not completely touch. The complete answer (if
there can be one) will be provided from them all. Like a jigsaw
puzzle, each discipline provides new pieces to the picture of human nature.
