Monk's Mound
Monk's Mound is the largest precolumbian earthwork in North America, north
of Mexico. As such, the mound has been a subject of detailed archaeological
research over the years, including mapping. Some time ago one of these maps
was digitized at the ISM GIS Lab into ARC/INFO, and the data from this
coverage have been used as a testing place for several forms of visualization.
These MPEG-encoded videos are "first drafts," and we are just learning the
methods of moving ARC/INFO data into animations.
Up to GIS Lab.
