Graph of insolation

This graph shows the incoming solar radiation
over the last 750,000 years for summer in both the tropics and at high
latiutude. Shown are curves for mid-July for 15 and 65 degrees north latitude
and for mid-January for 15 and 65 degrees south latitude. Note the
complex changes that occur in all four curves. The curves were derived
using the changing values of the eccentricity of the orbit, tilt of the
axis and precession of the equinoxes. The data are from
Berger
and Loutre (1991).
