When other people send you files, you can tell at a glance which messages in your Inbox have files attached to them. The Attachments icon appears next to them.
The Attachments pane of a message, visible in either the message window or the Preview pane, includes a list of files attached to the message. This list shows details about each file, such as file name and size. From the Attachments pane, you can open an attachment, save it to your computer, or remove it from the message.
When you receive a message in HTML format that includes a picture, the name of the picture file appears in the attachment list. If you prefer, you can specify that you also want the picture to appear in the message window.

When you open an attachment, Microsoft Outlook Express uses your Macintosh system settings to determine what program it should use to open the file. To open an attachment with a different program, drag the file from the Attachments pane to the program you want to use. |
