  DOS SHELL <F5>

This operation will take you back to the DOS prompt, but will leave SDES
resident in memory. You can just type EXIT to return to SDES and
everything will be as it was when you left.

However, if you press <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<LeftShift> while you are in the DOS
shell, whatever is on the screen will be copied into SDES's screen buffer,
and when you return to SDES that "captured" screen will have replaced
  whatever you were editing previously.

(For the more technically minded, <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<LeftShift> actually
captures page 0 of screen memory - if you are running a program that
uses page 1, you should use <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<RightShift> to capture the
  screen).

Note that since SDES remains in memory when you perform the DOS shell,
there will probably be very little memory available to run any other
programs, so don't be shocked if you get an out of memory error when
  trying to run something.
