[About The Guide]
LARGE TEXT MODE <Alt>+T
This mode allows you to enter text in various fonts other than the normal
ASCII text. When this mode is first invoked, you will be provided with a
list of font files to choose from. Once you have selected one, anything
you type will appear in that font.
However, once you have started typing something it isn't permanently
written to the screen. You can use the arrow keys to move the text around
the screen to exactly where you want it. You can also you <Ctrl> with the
left and right arrow keys to change the spaceing between the characters.
You can use <BackSpace> to delete one character back and <Esc> to delete
everything.
As far as colour goes there are 3 types of fonts - multicolour fonts have
colours that are permanently set. Mono fonts are in one colour, but that
colour can be altered using the <PgUp> and <PgDn> keys. Bi-colour fonts
are in two colours, and those colours can be altered using the
<PgUp>/<PgDn> and <Home>/<End> keys.
You can also add a "shadow" to the font by pressing <Ctrl>+S - pressing
<Ctrl>+S again will remove the shadow. To change the colour of the shadow,
you can use the <+> and <-> keys.
Once you have setup your colours and other attributes and positioned the
text properly you can write the text permanently to the screen by pressing
<Enter>. This will also move the cursor down a "line" (the height of the
current font) so you can continue writing on the next line. If you don't
want to move down a line then you should use <Shift>+<Enter> instead.
To disable this mode and get back to normal mode you just press <Alt>+T
again. Note, however, that if there is text on the screen that hasn't been
written "permanently" (by pressing <Enter>) then <Alt>+T will bring up the
list of fonts and allow you to change the font of the "unwritten" text.
