chksvr.exe


This is a utility that will run from the DOS command line,
checking that the server is online, and restart it if is
down. Source code is included.

To use this utility:

	1) Start the server and make sure that:
		a) The welcome banner is disabled
		b) The server will go online by itself
		   at startup.

	2) Make a backup copy of the user database
	   FtpDaemon.dat

	3) Stop the server

	4) Run chksvr from the command line in the
	   servers current directory.

	5) Verify that the server is started by chksvr.

	6) Shut down the server, and veriffy that chksvr
	   will restart it.


NOTE: This utility will only handle situations where the server
      is down due to an error. If setup files/databases are
      corrupted, so that the server fails to go online, chksvr
      will continue to start new copies of the server until the
      PC is out of memory.
