Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQs) (Still under construction)
- Sometimes it may take a few
seconds for the Netscape title bar names to appear in Browsefast.
This is normal. The window
status is checked every 1.5 seconds.
A busy application can delay the refresh slightly.
- If I run 6 or more Netscape
windows, only five appear. BrowseFast monitors
five windows at a time.
- Sometimes the download appears
to be slow. This application is streamlined
and has very little impact on system
resources.
Most likely, the net is over capacity.
- Netcom 2.11
users. There is a bug
in Netcom. Follow these steps:
- Start Netcom
- Start one or more Netscape
browsers from the Netcom launcher
- Kill the launcher
- Start BrowseFast
- Cruise the net
- EXIT NETCOM
- Exit BrowseFast
- Exit Windows cleanly
- The text
will sometimes appear to flash.
This is normal and just means that the window is being repainted
very rapidly.
- Windows 3.1 testing for Win32s
was done with version
1.30.166
- A big
flash on Windows 3.1 occurs
if you mistakenly run bfast32.exe(32 bit version). The flash is
from Win 3.1 not being able to load Win32s. Only run the 32-bit
version on Windows 95.
Nothing harmful has happened.
- Sometimes the download
percentage will appear twice.
This can happen and is not a bug. Sometimes the download percentage
is not displayed in the Netscape title bar. We add the percentage
to be certain that at least one number will appear.
