ABOUT THIS APPLICATION (AZZ Cardfile 1.6)

Purpose

Earlier I used to keep addresses, phones and other personal information 
in Microsoft Cardfile cards. I missed Cardfile in Microsoft Windows 95. 
Alternatives - MS Scheduler, MS Outlook, various freeware or shareware 
PIMs were either too complex or not convenient to use. 
I just need simple small notebook with fast item location possibility. 
I want something like empty cards - without any predefined fields 
(street address, zip, state, phone, fax, etc.).

Instead of using old MS Cardfile I decide to make such PIM myself. 
This small application helps me now to manage phone numbers and addresses. 
It could be used as a small "database" for the references, notes, 
recipes, ... for everything, as any card file.

Main features and limitations

* Compressed, encrypted and password protected data files
* Import Microsoft Cardfile *crd files (text only)
* Automatically sorted index
* Speed dial, E-mail, WWW
* Index filter-on-enter (I missed this feature in MS Cardfile)
* User defined colors and fonts
* Fashionable user interface
* Window's position, size, MRU files stored in Registry
* Large amount of cards could decrease filtering speed. 
  Intend to use this application for 10000 or less cards

Instructions and Tips

* Load sample file ACCSAMPLE.AZZ for testing and learning
* Try to enter some text (any fragment of card title) to Input Box. 
  Filter will turn on automatically.
* "Press off" Filter Button to show all cards.
* Select with mouse any text on the Card. Selected text will appears 
  in the Dial Edit Box. Press Dial Button and Phone Dialer, e-mail or 
  WWW browser (depending of Dial Edit Box contents) will start.
* Search Button will help to find any text on any card 
  (not in Cards list. Use filter for this purpose).
* Use Tools|Options menu to change fonts, colors and list orientation.
* After testing you can import your CRD file or start new AZZ file.
* Use File|Protect menu to encrypt your AZZ file. Remember password!

Registration

AZZ Cardfile is FREEWARE application and never expires. 
So, use it as you like, but redistribute it also as freeware.
