PSIONWPDATAFILE ROM::BJ.WDR BTBody text HAHeading A HBHeading B BLBulleted list ding A NNNormal UUUnderline BBBold IIItalic EESuperscript SSSubscript PrintPic A graphic print driver for the Cannon BJ10e Introduction This program allows you to print out any Psion PIC bitmap file (black pixels only for Series 3a bitmaps), on a Cannon BJ10e portable printer. It rotates the image through 90 and can deal with any size of PIC, it can also enlarge the PIC by x2, or x4, in practice the maximum size image that fits onto A4 is about 760 x 480 pixels. Installation Copy the file "Printpic.opo" or "Prtpic-3.opl" (see note on compatibility below) into the \OPO\ directory on any drive, "Printpic.wrd" should go into any \WRD\ directory. Operation Select Printpic under the RunOpl icon and press [Enter]. When the first dialog appears, use [Tab] and the arrow keys to navigate through the file selector to the PIC you wish to print. Next you will be asked the magnification required, options are x1, x2, & x4. If the enlargement selected will not fit onto A4 a warning will offer the chance to change the magnification or continue. (It is possible to print across two pieces of paper if you are prepared to get out the scissors and sticky tape.) Then the image will appear on screen in the top left corner, if the image is larger than screen size only the top left of the image is shown. After a short pause another dialog asks if you wish to add a border to the image or print it directly, if you select the border it will be drawn to fit inside the absolute size of the image. Before selecting - Print PIC - "Yes" - the Series3 should be connected to the BJ10 with a 3-link parallel lead, a sheet of paper inserted and line fed to its normal start position, and the printer switched ~Online~. The printing process is fairly slow, the time taken depends on the size and magnification of the image. The image is scanned in strips from top right to bottom right and these strips are printed from top left to top right on the paper, thus rotating the image 90 anti-clockwise. Pressing the [Esc] key will abandon the printout (there may be a short delay whilst the current line scan is finished). Compatibility The object code "Printpic.opl" is for the Series 3a, but "Prtpic 3.opl" can be loaded into a "Classic" where it will run in an identical fashion. Disclaimer I have tested this program for all the eventualities I can think of, but if something unfortunate happens it just proves Murphy was right and there is nothing I can do about that. (What do you want for nothing?) Distribution This program is free and may be passed on to other Psion users providing no charge is made (or you cut me in for 50%), and this document is included with the program. (for "readability" this "manual" prints as a single side of A4 on the BJ10). Nige Holbrough, 15 Longfield House, Ealing, W5 2SR HAUU, HBNNL
