Important — font encoding choices

The style files assume that you have already made the choice of which text font encoding scheme you prefer (T1 or OT1), and that it is the default when the LATEX job starts. However, you may need to override the defaults or make special provision for odd fonts, and for this purpose some utility style files are provided.
nft1ot1
This reloads the T1 and OT1 encoding declarations with appropriate macro definitions so that you can switch between them in mid-document, and have the accents, special characters etc, set up correctly.
nfot1var
The set of tfm and vf files supplied with Tom Rokicki's dvips and those created by default with his afm2tfm do not precisely match the OT1 TEX layout. This style option changes some macro definitions to make the necessary fixes.
