INEWS DAILY IS NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH E-MAIL FREE TRIAL International News E-Wire Service (INEWS) is an English language daily, covering news of the world. INEWS provides up-to-date and accurate world news. It also includes many features covering such topics as economics, science, medicine, technology, agriculture, and music. Every day, INEWS gathers reports filed by correspondents stationed at 26 news bureaus throughout the world. INEWS relates first-hand coverage of stories from news bureaus in Abidjan, Bangkok, Beijing, Berlin, Bonn, Cairo, Chicago, Geneva, Hong Kong, Islamabad, Jerusalem, Johannesburg, London, Los Angeles, Miami, Moscow, Nairobi, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Prague, Rio de Janeiro, San Jose, Tokyo, Vienna, and Washington, D.C. Daily INEWS service is available for less than $4.00 a month. Delivered through E-mail in one of two versions, plain text or a DOS/VGA version. The DOS/VGA version is sent either through E-mail, encoded, or through file transfer on America Online. The encoded version is not available through FIDO Net. What is an encoded file? Most electronic mail systems can't handle binary files. Binary files are word processor and spreadsheet data files, and files with a .EXE or .COM extension. UUENCODE is a file conversion standard. It will change a binary file into an ASCII file, that can be sent through E-mail. Once you receive the encoded file(s) through E-mail, you can decode it to return the file back to its binary form. Included in this sign-up kit is a self-extracting file, UUXFER.EXE, which contains the files for the shareware program UUXFER20. UUXFER20 is the program we recommend for decoding INEWS encoded files. UUXFER20 is shareware, if you continue to use it after the 30-day trial period you must register it with its author. Public domain and freeware UUENCODE encoding/decoding software are available. INEWS Daily can be mailed to almost any E-mail address on: Internet, AppleLink, America Online, AT&T Mail, AT&T EasyLink, BITNET, CompuServe, DELPHI, FIDO Net, GEnie, MCI Mail, SprintMail, and many local BBS services. A free two week trial can be received by sending E-mail containing E-mail address, name and address to: INTERNET: INEWS@AOL.COM AOL: INEWS Specification should be made as to which version, plain text or encoded DOS/VGA version, should be sent. The preferred method of delivery for PC users is through America Online. Subscribers who do not have an AOL account can receive a free AOL sign up kit with software and 10 hours of free usage. ****HOW TO SEND E-MAIL TO I-NEWS FROM VARIOUS ONLINE SERVICE**** Below are the addresses to use to send E-mail to INEWS from various on-line services. A self-extracting UUXFER20 package, UUXFER.EXE is included in this sign up kit. If you receive the following encoded files: INWS1231.1 INWS1231.2 INWS1231.3 INWS1231.4 INWS1231.5 At the command line of the directory containing the encode files and UUXFER20 you should type: UUXFER20 -M -D The file name is always the encoded file with the .1 extension. In this case you would enter: UUXFER20 -M -DINWS1231.1 This would convert the encoded files into the file INWS1231.EXE, the self-running December 31st edition of INEWS Daily. ***END OF FILE***
