Another clone of the Yahtzee(tm) Game for solitaire play. This
version provides you with two game modes: Standard YAtzee and Stud YAtzee. All
modes feature automatic scoring and bonus calculations. Five High Scores are
maintained for both Standard and Stud games.
NOTE: If you had YAtzee 1.01, be sure to delete it to reclaim maximum memory before installing this version. The prior version used databases which are now not required.
Goal: Roll dice to get create the best score for each entry on the score-board. Top five high-scores are saved for review.
Rounds: Each turn consists of clicking on the Roll button up to 3 times. After clicking the Roll button, you may click on the die you want to discard. If you descide you don't want to discard the die, clicking on it again makes the die active.
Scoring: Scores are entered by clicking on the desired spot on the score-board. If a valid score cannot be determined for that slot, then a ZERO is entered. You may use each slot only one time. Scores are determined by the following patterns:
- Left Side of Score-board:
- Die Slots: There are six score slots, one for each value of the die. If you choose to use one of these slots, the score is determined by the count of the slot number. Example: You roll 1-3-3-4-6, if you choose 1's, then your score is 1, if you choose 3's, then your score is 6.
- Left-Side Bonus: You get a Left-Side Bonus if your subtotal for the left side of the score board is 63 or higher -- this is achieved by making 3 die tallys for each slot on the left side.
- Right Side of Score-board:
- 3 of a Kind: Get three out of 5 dice that match the same number and the score is the sum of all dice rolled. Example: 1-4-6-4-4 is matched on the 4's.
- 4 of a Kind: Get four out of 5 dice that match the same number and the score is the sum of all dice rolled. Example: 3-2-3-3-3 is matched on the 3's.
- Full House: You must have 3 dice with the same number and the remaining other two must be the same number. The score is 25. Example: 3-3-3-5-5 is a full house.
- Small Strait: If your dice sequence is 1-2-3-4 or 2-3-4-5 or 3-4-5-6 then you have a small strait. A large strait can qualify as a small strait. Your score is always 30.
- Large Strait: If your dice sequence is 1-2-3-4-5 or 2-3-4-5-6 then you have a large strait. If you already have a large strait, this will also qualify as a small strait. Your score is always 40.
- YAtzee: If all five dice have the same value you get 50. You get a Bonus YAtzee of 100 points if you score additional YAtzees.
- Chance: Your score is the sum of all dice rolled.
Again, if you can't make one of the above scores, then you need to use up one slot with a score of ZERO.
Game Ends: The game ends when all slots (except Bonus) have scores. The five top scores are kept as high-scores to beat.
Stud YAtzee is the same as Standard YAtzee except that you cannot discard dice -- you must play the dice values that are rolled the first time. Your high-scores will typically be less than with Standard YAtzee.
The top five high scores for Standard and Stud are maintained separately. You may reset the score lists by clicking on the High-Scores' Reset button.
You can undo the last score, but you will only be able to use the current set of dice for a new score -- in other words, you can't score on roll 2, then decide to discard and roll again for a new score.
