  • What is Exmh?

    Exmh is a TCL/TK based interface to the MH mail system.

    Installation Information

    Exmh includes these subsystems:
    fw_exmh.sw.exmh (default) Execution environment for exmh.
    fw_exmh.man.exmh (default) Exmh 1.6.2's online manual pages (preformatted).
    fw_exmh.man.relnotes (default) Exmh 1.6.2's online release notes.
    fw_exmh.src The complete Exmh 1.6.2 software distribution from which this product was built (configured for use with IRIX Freeware packages).

    Installation Method

    All of the subsystems for Exmh can be installed using IRIX. You do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the Software Installation Administrator's Guide for complete installation instructions.

    Prerequisites

    Your workstation must be running IRIX 5.3 or later in order to use this product.

    Exmh depends on the following subsystems:

      Subsystem Purpose
      fw_tk.sw.tk to interpret Tcl/Tk code
      fw_mh.sw.mh to handle mail-related operations

    Configuration Files

    The following files define system-wide application defaults for Exmh and may by tailored to reflect your system needs: /usr/freeware/lib/exmh-1.6.2/app-defaults, /usr/freeware/lib/exmh-1.6.2/app-defaults-color, and /usr/freeware/lib/exmh-1.6.2/app-defaults-mono.

    In addition Exmh comes configured to use the following products. Installation of these products is not required for proper operation of Exmh.

      Subsystem Purpose
      fw_metamail.sw.metamail to handle MIME messages
      fw_glimpse.sw.gimpse to index and search mail folders

    Documentation Information

    Preformatted manual pages are installed by default; consult exmh(1) for an introduction. Additional documentation is provided online; use the help facility from within Exmh.
