  • What is GNU libg++?

    The GNU libg++ distribution is a collection of libraries for use with the GNU C++ compiler.

    Author

    For the libg++ library:

    Doug Lea <dl@oswego.edu> designed and implemented most of the classes, and was the original maintainer and "owner" of libg++. He has handed over "ownership" to Cygnus Support.

    Per Bothner <bothner@cygnus.com> of Cygnus Support is now maintaining libg++. Cygnus Support, 1937 Landings Drive, Mountain View, CA 94043

    The remaining libraries (libio, libstdc++, libiberty) include no information about who the authors were.

    Installation Information

    GNU libg++ includes these subsystems:
    fw_GNUlibg++.sw.lib++ (default) Execution environment for the GNU libg++ product.
    fw_GNUlibg++.man.libg++ (default) GNU libg++ 2.6.2's online manual pages (preformatted).
    fw_GNUlibg++.man.relnotes (default) GNU libg++ 2.6.2's online release notes.
    fw_GNUlibg++.src The complete GNU libg++ 2.6.2 software distribution from which this product was built (including any SGI modifications).

    Installation Method

    All of the subsystems for GNU libg++ can be installed using IRIX. You do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the Software Installation Administrator's Guide for complete installation instructions.

    Prerequisites

    Your workstation must be running IRIX 5.3 or later in order to use this product.

    You must have the GNU C++ compiler (fw_GNUgcc) installed to use this product.

    The GNU libg++ distribution does not include preformatted manual page documentation.
