Chassis
The OCTANE chassis is very modular in design and allows for a number of
options and upgrades to be easily installed. From the back of the
chassis, the CPU, XIO, PCI and power supply modules snap into the
backplane for easy service.

CPU Module - is located on the left side of the back of the
system and contains the external system jacks for connecting audio,
Ultra SCSI devices, 10/100Base-TX ethernet, serial and parallel
devices, mouse and keyboard. The CPU Module also contains slots for
four banks of memory and one or two processor modules.

XIO Module - is located on the right side of the back of the
chassis and contains four XIO slots for graphics, video, display,
networking and I/O options. Graphics come pre-installed in slot A. Some
XIO options require a graphics connector (e.g. Digital Video, Personal
Video and Presenter) and must be installed in slot B.

PCI Module - is an option which is installed in the middle
of the back of the chassis. It has the capacity for two full-height and
one half-height PCI-64 cards.

Power Supply Module - is located on the bottom of the back
of the chassis.
