CoCreate Software Inc. and MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. to Integrate CAD/CAE CapabilitiesIntegration to Give Engineers Ability to Perform Critical Analysis Within SolidDesignerFORT COLLINS, Colo., Nov. 4, 1996 -- CoCreate Software Inc. and MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. (MSC) today announced a joint development agreement to integrate CAD and CAE software that will allow engineering analysis within a design environment. CoCreate, Hewlett-Packard Company's recently announced software subsidiary formed from HP's former Mechanical Design Division, is the developer of SolidDesigner software, a leading mechanical computer-aided-design solution used by engineers around the world. The two companies are integrating MSC's computer-aided engineering (CAE) capabilities into CoCreate's SolidDesigner MCAD environment. The integrated solution is important to engineers who need to perform analysis during the design process. CoCreate and MSC intend to develop a solution that will enable engineers to analyze the effects of stress, vibration and heat from within the SolidDesigner MCAD software. "We are very excited by the opportunity to integrate two world-class product lines to bring breakthrough capabilities to the design teams, "said Tilman F. Schad, CoCreate's president. "Our companies share very similar corporate cultures, as well as engineering experiences and innovative technologies. We look forward to working with MSC's world-class team."
