The Volume Rendering Technology
of T-Vox ^TM 1.1

The increasing availability of computer hardware with advanced 3D graphics features allows for the development of new graphics applications and provides increased power to algorithms that were previously too slow to use in these applications.

One such graphics feature on the new generation of Silicon Graphics workstations is the ability to define volumetric textures. A volumetric texture is a 3D region where texture values are stored in a three-dimensional grid. Each polygon inside the volumetric texture assumes the texture values that it intersects. This feature provides a new way to apply an interactive algorithm for volume rendering - resulting in incredibly fast rendering updates.

T-Vox^TM 1.1 brings this rendering speed and power to the medical field. T-Vox^TM technology allows researchers to see detailed anatomical features and their complex interrelationships.
