The 1-CPU Origin200 is a UNIX-based server designed for general purpose computing environments requiring high levels of both compute power and I/O. It comes in a compact tower enclosure that can be configured as a deskside or rack-mounted unit. As a member of the Origin family of servers, it features the Scalable Shared Memory Architecture (S2MP), a fully scalable hardware cache-coherent technology which enables the system to extend shared memory out of the box. It uses the MIPS RISC R10000 64-bit Processor which includes 1MB of secondary cache. Instead of a system bus it uses the Hub ASIC, a non-blocking crossbar switch to control the data flow between the CPU, memory and I/O. Origin200 offers the ability to scale both compute power and I/O bandwidth by adding a second Origin200 tower and connecting with the CrayLink interconnect cable. The WebFORCE configuration includes a a 2.2GB system disk with the following pre-installed software: IRIX(1CPU License), Netscape Enterprise Web Server 2.0, WebMeter (limited web-only version of Performance Co-Pilot with Web add-on), web-based setup utilities, Xing limited version streaming video server (unlimited version is available as upgrade from Xing), Public Domain utilities. This configuration does NOT offer FTO options. Please use FTO-2GBUP4WEB (4GB WebFORCE option disk) for alternative configurations.
