ARCHIMEDES

ARCHIMEDES extracts part boundaries from single and stacked CT images and converts the results to closed contours and meshed surface points, respectively. The package runs on major UNIX-based platforms and accepts image data from standard medical and industrial CT systems. The graphical user interface leads the user intuitively and interactively through the process of extracting geometrical part data. The results, which are accurate to fractions of a pixel, can be output in a variety of file formats, including TIFF, ASCII, DXF and STL. Special windows allow the user to view CT images and surface meshes in 3-D.
