PicGen

PicGen is a software package for generating "PicTree" volume-graphics files (3-D pictures) that can be embedded in electronic documents. Users can interactively display and manipulate PicTrees in 3-D using a free software viewer (PicView). Information can come from SGI Inventor, VRML, scanners (medical, laser), CAD systems (IGES, AutoCAD), volumetric data sets, etc. PicTrees can be distributed over the internet (in HTML documents), via CD-ROM, in applications, etc. Viewers are avialable for popular platforms at no cost. Hardware acceleration is available. Electronic document uses include technical manuals, scientific reports, encyclopedias, textbooks, designs documents, advertisements, medical reports, news, feature articles, etc.
