SAM-200

The SAM-200 is a high-performance, multi-ported, solid-state memory system for data acquisition, RAM disk and shared memory applications. The SAM-200 can hold up to eight gigabytes of memory, can support an aggregate bandwidth of 400 megabytes/second, and offers eight I/O ports. Each I/O port can sustain up to 160 megabytes per second into or out of SAM-200 memory. The SAM-200 connects to SGI equipment via VMEbus or HIPPI interface hardware. SAM-200 software supports transparent disk emulation for ease-of-use, or DMA access via subroutine call for specialized applications.
