VMIVME-5522L, SGI-to-VMEbus ADAPTER

The VMIVME-5522L is an easy solution to connect a Silicon Graphics multiprocessor computer (CHALLENGE and Onyx Series) to a standard 6U VMEbus. The VMIVME-5521V is physically located in slot 1 of the VMEbus chassis.

Up to four VMIVME-5521Ls can be configured in a CHALLENGE XL, L, or DM. The Onyx rack system also supports four VMIVME-5221Ls. Up to two VMIVME-5522Ls can be configured in an Onyx deskside system and each VMIVME-5522L consumes one HIO slot. It was developed for Real-Time Data Acquisition and Control and Simulation and Training applications.

The VMIVME-5522L is functionally equivalent to the SGI HIO/VCAMboard except for the following:

1. The VMIVME-5522I supports a remote VMEbus interface (up to 25ft.)

2. The VMIVME-5522L supports a 6U form factor

3. The VMIVME-5522L supplies no power; all VMEbus power is sourced form chassis power supplies
