AMASS® (Archival Management & Storage System)

AMASS® is a file system implemented using the UNIX virtual file system layer. Its transparent filesystem interface provides direct file storage within optical or tape libraries of any size. The capacity of the AMASS file system is virtually limitless. Current customers are storing in excess of 20 million files. Because AMASS presents the entire library under a single, exportable mount point, files are accessible via standard communication protocols such as NFS, TCP/IP, RFS, NetWare, AppleShare, LAN Manager and others. A user or application can write files to or read files from the library the same way they would with magnetic disk.
