OPI Server

ColorByte specializes in application tools for the publishing environment. The Open Picture Interface (OPI) server allows publishers to mount SGI volumes on the desktop of PC's and Mac's. High Resolution images are kept on the server while for placement only (FPO's) images are generated and made available to the layout stations. PostScript pages are printed transparently to the server and the high resolution images are replaced and prepared for output. Self running queue managers pope data to specific output devices and file formats. Extensions include PostScript Level II interpreter, Scitex Native, Handshake, TIFF, TGA, DDES, and output device driver plug-ins. Available on SGI Workstations running Irix 4.x and 5.x.
