ST-500 Ethernet Transceiver

Cabletron's one-style configurable ST-500 transceiver for thick and thin coax cable enables network planners to change only the tap, not the entire device, eliminating the need to purchase varying types of transceivers.

Three series of taps are availablethe nonintrusive ST-500-01, which connects to thick trunk cable without interrupting an active network; the intrusive ST-500-02 link, which attaches between two N-Series male connectors; and the BNC ST-500-03, which allows nodes to be attached to Thinnet via a T-connector. All models are compatible with IEEE 802.3 standards for 10 Mbps medium access units.
