EPS-16 HIPPI Switch

The EPS base chassis includes 16 slots and the switch control card (SCC). Each slot can support either a parallel or serial HIPPI Media Interconnect Card (MIC). Serial HIPPI MICs are available in both Short Serial (short wavelength laser-1310 nm) models. The high-speed SCC arbitrates up to 16 Parallel and/or Serial MICs. Embedded microcode allows easy configuration of switches and traffic routing, as well as alternate pathing of HIPPI traffic. Switch has an aggregate bandwidth of 12.8 Gbps (800 Mbps per port, each direction) for 16 simultaneous full duplex connections.
