eXceed 4 for Windows - Hummingbird eXceed 4 for Microsoft Windows is a PC-X Window integration software suite that allows PCs running Microsoft Windows to display and utilize X-Window applications running on host computers, such as UNIX and VMS, completely integrating the UNIX and Windows environments. eXceed 4 for windows includes both dial-up access to X hosts over telephone lines, and VxD-based TCP/IP network software. Windows and X-Window applications run concurrently on the PC screen, with capability to copy and paste text and graphics between environments. Among many features offered by eXceed 4 are: high performance, 32-bit implementation; X11R6 compatability, one-step installation/configuration; powerful network administration features; and Hummingbirds unique X Development Kit, to develop and run X clients locally, on the PC. eXceed 4 also includes support for 22 TCP/IP transports, DECnet, NetWare IPX/SPX, and all transports complying with Windows Sockets API.
