The ASDG Abekas Driver©

The ASDG Abekas Driver© version 1.2 is a point-and-click bulk-transfer utility for reading and writing Exabyte tapes in the Abekas D1 digital disk format. You can interactively browse tapes with standard tape transport controls. Combined with Image Independence, the driver can convert Abekas D1 digital video to and from more than twenty of the most important image formats used in film and video. The driver also contains ASDG's exclusive color encoding technology which increases the apparent color bandwidth of video.

The ASDG Abekas Driver runs on any SGI® workstation with IRIX 5.3 or higher.
