MotionStar Wireless

Ascension's new MotionStar Wireless is a real-time motion-capture product without bulky trailing cables. It is the first and only magnetic tracker without cables allowing instantaneous display of captured motions. Position and orientation data for up to 14 sensors, mounted on a perfomer are sent to a miniaturized electronics unit in a "fanny pack" for pre-processing and wireless telemetry to a base station. Here the measurements are computed and output via a high speed ethernet ro serial interface to host computer. MotionStar Wireless uses pulsed DC magnetic fields to avoid blocking and metallic distortion problems.
