MAXSTRAT Gen5 Storage Server

The MAXSTRAT Gen5 Storage Server has been selected and qualified to provide HIPPI RAID storage for Silicon Graphics' high end systems, creating a high performance server solution. The MAXSTRAT Gen5, when used in conjunction with Silicon Graphics CHALLENGE, POWER CHALLENGE, ONYX, and Origin systems, will provide more performance for applications that command a high data rate and/or very rapid random access to large amounts of data. Using the XFS filesystem, sustained >data transfer rates of up to 50 MBytes/sec can be achieved. The MAXSTRAT Gen5 XLE offers full fault tolerance for mission-critical data availability and can store 800+ GBytes of data in a single cabinet that occupies less than one square meter of floor space. The MAXSTRAT Gen5 can store 30 to 60 GBytes of user data in a compact, desk-height cabinet occupying less than four square feet of floor space.
