WILDCHILD

WILDCHILD is a Reconfigurable Computing Engine, with 9 Xilinx 4000/EX/XL Series Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) for Processing Elements. WILDCHILD is a 6U sized VME based board. It works as an attached processor to the host, including SGI Power Challenge and Challenge XL. Processing intensive algorithms (such as digital signal processing and image processing) can be implemented on the FPGAs, with dramatic increase in computational speed.
