WILDFIRE

WILDFIRE is a Reconfiguarble Computing Engine, with 17 Xilinx 4000/EX/XL Series Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) for Processing Elements. WILDFIRE is a VME based board, 6U high and 400mm deep. It works as an attached processor to the host, including SGI Power Challenge and Challenge XL. Processing intensive algorithms can be implemented on the FPGAs, with a dramatic increase in computational speed.
