INTERN
INTERN
is a specialized finite-difference analysis system for gas-turbine combustors. The code calculates the 3-D, viscous, recirculating internal flow, both with and without combustion. It allows annular, can and can-annular geometries, and will accomodate swirlers, primary and dilution-zone jets of any orientation, and cooling films from wall slots. Gaseous, as well as liquid, fuels may be specified. A graphics processor previews the grid, and provides details of the calculated flow field through both velocity vector plots and contour plots that include temperature, pressure, turbulence intensity, and mass fraction of unburned fuel and carbon monoxide.
