External Wounds The external wounds were caused by a high-powered rifle shot at the victim at relatively close range, but not within range of producing evidence such as soot or gunpowder residues. The relative cleanliness of both wound sites indicates that the bullet utilised was full-metal jacketed. The size of the cleaner entrance wound, .30 inches, indicates that the rifle used was probably a .30-06. 2. Internal Wound Path The internal wound path passed directly though the victim's heart, causing severe disruption of organ function. Presence of lead particulate and multiple fractures of contiguous bones along the path are consistent with that of a full-metal jacket- ed bullet shot from a high-powered rifle. PAGE
