A Resource About Dermatology Surgery
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is great concern expressed in my mail about the treatment of
genital (or venereal warts). Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) announced the approval of alpha-interferon to treat this sexually
transmitted viral infection that affects approximately 8 million Americans
every year. Alpha-interferon is used in conjunction with surgical procedures
that remove the wart, and can prevent recurrence by destroying any warts not
visible at time of surgery.
The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery is offering an information sheet
about this development. Its easy to obtain, by calling their toll free
information number 1-800-441-ASDS. The line is manned Monday through Friday
between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM Central time.
Additional information sheets of great interest are also available for the
asking. They include: dermatologic surgery, antiaging techniques, acne scar,
skin cancer and balding treatments. There is something here for everyone!
