This file contains important information about HoverRace and
you should read it to fully enjoy the game.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- 486 66 MHz (Pentium recommended)
- 8 MB of RAM
- 8 MB of free disk space
- PCI or VESA Local Bus VideoCard
- Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0
- DirectX
- DirectX compatible sound card recommended
- 14KBS Internet connection recommended
INSTALLATION
To install HoverRace you need to unzip the HoverRace package to a
temporary folder. From there you just need to run the Setup program.
If you already have an older HoverRace program installed on your
computer, it is recommended that you remove it first. HoverRace
can be unstalled by running the "Unistall HoverRace" command located
in the HoverRace folder.
*** WARNING to the BETA testers ***
You need to delete all the tracks of the BETA version, they are
incompatible with this new version. You must recompile them to be
able to use them again.
STARTING HOVERRACE
You can run HoveRace from your Windows START menu. Just click on the
HoverRace icon in the HoverRace folder.
PLAYING ON THE INTERNET
Just need to press F2 in the game and you will be automatically
connected to our FREE players matching service.
You should try the INTERNET mode to enjoy this game at the maximum.
To type a message in the Internet Room type in the white box at the
bottom of the screen.
note: Use only Microsoft TCP Stack and Dialer. "Internet Connect for
Windows 95(CORE)" do not work with HoverRace.
USEFULL TIPS
"Press SHIFT to advance"
In HoverRace the default key to make your HoverCraft mode if
the SHIFT key. The UP arrow is used for jumping.
"Do not get discouraged if you do not drive well at first"
Driving an HoverCraft is not a complex task but it require
some dexterity. After 15 minutes of practice you will be
able to drive the HoverCraft like an pro.
"HoverCraft can be controlled while they not touch ground"
This is very useful to avoid to fall down in a trap when
jumping.

COMMON ERRORS
"ddraw.dll not found"
You need to install DirectX on your system. Most new games will
soon use DirectX so it is a good idea to install it now. You can
found Direct X on GrokkSoft site:

"dsound.dll not found"
Usually this mean that DirectX have not been correctly installed.
You must install the DirectSound component to be able to play
HoverRace. This component must be installed even if you have no
sound card on your system.
You need to reinstall DirectX on your system. Most new games will
soon use DirectX so it is a good idea to install it now. You can
found Direct X on GrokkSoft site:

"Direct sound error" or
"HoverRace crash"
If you have a SB32AWE sound card you should not use the new
drivers provided by CreativeLab. They are incompatible with
DirectSound. You should use drivers provided with Windows or
the original drivers that comes with your sound card.
"I only see a gray screen when I start a game"
Try to switch to full screen by pressing F8 or F9(try both) when
the game is started.
"The game look ugly"
Try to increase the resolution. You can resize the window or you
can choose a higher resolution in the "Setting" menu.
"Refresh rate is too slow"
Try to reduce screen resolution. You can either select the
320x200 display mode by pressing F8 or you can reduce displayable
area with the minus"-" key.
"You should be connected to the Internet to use this function" or
"Unable to connect to server"
Server may be temporary out of reach. Retry later. If the
situation persist, please contact us:

"I'm unable to connect to an Internet game. My delay never end
computing"
You should Use only Microsoft TCP Stack and Dialer. Also,
"Internet Connect for Windows 95(CORE)" do not work with
HoverRace.

By copying or using the HoverRace, you indicate your agreement to
the terms of this license. If you do not agree to the terms herein,
you are not authorized to copy or use HoverRace.
The HoverRace program, including any images, animations, sounds,
and text incorporated in it, is owned by GrokkSoft inc. and is
protected by the Canadians copyright laws and international treaty
provisions. Except to the extent expressly licensed herein, all
rights are reserved to GrokkSoft inc. You may not reverse engineer,
decompile, or disassemble HoverRace.
This licence give you the right to play and copy HoverRace for your
personal use. Those you did not paid the registration fee are
allowed to use a limited set of features of the game. Those who paid
the registration fee are allowed to use all the features of the
game.
This licence give you the right to distribute HoverRace as is for
FREE. This mean that you must distribute HoverRace in its original
compressed format with no content modification.
If you plan to charge any fee for distribution of HoverRace, or if you
plan to include HoverRace as part of a non free package, disk or
CD-ROM you must first obtain an authorization from GrokkSoft.
In no circonstance you are allowed to distribute, in any way, any
registration key.
