  3.                      THE TALKING CHECKBOOK: VERSION 5.03

  5.            What's new in this version:
  6.       
  7.            o    You can now browse through your checks and other
  8.                 records! This uses the classic database management
  9.                 browse method where you use your arrow and page keys to
  10.                 get around. this option has the unique advantage of
  11.                 allowing you to edit while browsing if you choose. Just
  12.                 moving your arrow key will put you right in the field
  13.                 you want to edit and right to the letter or number you
  14.                 want to change. Kind of like a word processor in type-
  15.                 over mode! The regular Talking Checkbook method of
  16.                 viewing and editing is still available for those who
  17.                 prefer it.
  18.       
  19.            o    You can now add a starting balance for the retirement
  20.                 manager within the Talking Checkbook. this was added
  21.                 for those folks who have already gotten some money in
  22.                 their retirement accounts and want that included in the
  23.                 calculations.

  25.            o    You can read the documentation (such as it is) using
  26.                 the DOS calls by typing "Mono" for black and white or
  27.                 "color" for color systems and pressing enter. You can
  28.                 also read the docs through typing "type mono.doc|more"
  29.                 or "Type color.doc|more" and pressing enter for the
  30.                 regular DOS type to screen access.

  32.            o    The tax and regular report features are now able to
  33.                 give you a great ascii text file of what would have
  34.                 otherwise been printed if you had selected the print
  35.                 rather than file option. Also you'll be happy to be
  36.                 able to go off and sing a folk song to your cat instead
  37.                 of having to sit around and press a key every time a
  38.                 new page is being created in the file generation part
  39.                 of the tax program.

  41.       o    The program itself has been compiled with an additional
  42.            Clipper library included in the code to protect against
  43.            errors in file or print generation.

  47.       environment pointers and more.
