THE TALKING CHECKBOOK: VERSION 5.03
What's new in this version:
o You can now browse through your checks and other
records! This uses the classic database management
browse method where you use your arrow and page keys to
get around. this option has the unique advantage of
allowing you to edit while browsing if you choose. Just
moving your arrow key will put you right in the field
you want to edit and right to the letter or number you
want to change. Kind of like a word processor in type-
over mode! The regular Talking Checkbook method of
viewing and editing is still available for those who
prefer it.
o You can now add a starting balance for the retirement
manager within the Talking Checkbook. this was added
for those folks who have already gotten some money in
their retirement accounts and want that included in the
calculations.
o You can read the documentation (such as it is) using
the DOS calls by typing "Mono" for black and white or
"color" for color systems and pressing enter. You can
also read the docs through typing "type mono.doc|more"
or "Type color.doc|more" and pressing enter for the
regular DOS type to screen access.
o The tax and regular report features are now able to
give you a great ascii text file of what would have
otherwise been printed if you had selected the print
rather than file option. Also you'll be happy to be
able to go off and sing a folk song to your cat instead
of having to sit around and press a key every time a
new page is being created in the file generation part
of the tax program.
o The program itself has been compiled with an additional
Clipper library included in the code to protect against
errors in file or print generation.
Enjoy the program in good health and see you at version 5.04
once our little minds have dreamed up new stuff like DOS
environment pointers and more.
