|
Assistance with figuring out what to have for |
dinner for the next 5 evenings is what Chef-Plan |
is all about. Planning ahead is the best way to |
save money, and ease your mind about last minute |
decision of what to fix tonight! |

Planning for several meals, or just one, gives |
the busy person a new tool for taking care of the|
the most important evening task. <MORE> |

The opening menu provides the primary choices that
are available for getting a Meal Plan into your |
hands quickly and easily. |
The choices are: |
1. Pick one (or more) meals using selection |
of protein type and ethnic file. |
2. Print the MEALS that have been selected by |
by either option 1, or option 3. |
3. Automatically select a plan of meals for the
number of days set in the profile file. |
4. View the meals that have been selected on |
line to decide if you wish to print the set.
5. This is the maintenance menu for the data |
files and the profile setup screen. |
6. Provides the chance to choose a meal using |
one (or two or three) main ingredient(s). |

The Pick and Choose a Meal screen provides the |
ablity to pick one meal using selections of |
protein type and ethnic file. If you find more |
than one meal that match your search requirement |
you can save the set and print them all. |

The Print you MEAL PLAN screen allows you to get |
a formated listing of the meal records that you |
have selected. |
If there are no records to print, go to screen #1|
or screen #3, to select some MEAL records. |

The Automatic Selection of MEALS screen sets in |
action the random selection of meal records using|
the values in the profile file, that you usually |
set only once. The percent of beef meals will be|
close to the percent that you choose for beef. |
And the percent of ETHNIC meals will closely |
match the requested spread of styles. |

The PREVIEW Your Selections Screen is a convenent|
way to look through the meal records selected by |
by screen #1 or screen #3. |
If there are no records to print, go to screen #1|
or screen #3, to select some MEAL records. |

The maintenance menu provides the options that |
are available for updating the Meal record file, |
updating the Food record files, setting your own |
family profile values, and printing selected (or |
all) of the Food files and Meal files. <MORE> |

The choices are: |
1. Add, Change, Delete MEAL records. These are|
the Ethnic style files. |
2. Add, Change, Delete FOOD records. These are|
the files that contain the side dishes and |
accessory options. |
3. Set the starting profile values that will be
used when automatically selecting a plan of|
meals (for the number of days set in the |
profile file). |
4. Print selected (or all) Meal files. These |
are the main dish files with the codes that|
point to desired record in the food files. |
5. Print selected (or all) Food files. These |
are the records for the side dishes and the|
accessory options needed with the entrees. |

The Style/Ethnic files are the MEAL files for the|
meals that may have a regional or national flavor|
or accent to the cooking. The grouping is meant |
to be suggestive of either ethnic spices that are|
used or of main dishes that are common to that |
style. |
For the automatic selection of meals, the percent|
associated with each style label is used to pick |
a meal record. If a negative preferences is |
desired, then set the percent to zero and no meal|
will be picked with that ethnic flavor. |

The MAIN dish grouping is the protein that is the|
basis for the entree. The choices are given for |
a wide variety of tastes and preferences. |
For the automatic selection of meals, the percent|
associated with each protein label is used to |
choose a meal record. If a negative preferences |
is desired, then set the percent to zero and no |
meals will be picked with that protein type. |

The FOOD grouping is the side dishes and the |
other accessory options. The choices are given |
for a wide variety of tastes and preferences. |
The explicit coding for a food record in the MEAL|
record will tie that food record to that Meal. |
For a random selection from the food file, the |
code field in the MEAL record is coded as an |
asterisk '*' and is display as 'cooks choice'. |

The options available for printing the selected |
file are: |
A All will print all of the remaining files.|
N No means do not print this file. |
<ENTER> will print this one file. |
<ESC> will terminate the activity here. |
Y Yes will print this one file. |

The message of 'no matching meal record found' |
is the result of a combination of selections that|
have no matches. The choices are to pick a new |
combination of MEAL file and PROTEIN type (and try
again) or to 'Quit' the screen by pressing the |
<ESC> key. |
