Thank You for your interest in DataDex/3D.
Copy the datadex.zip file to your hard drive... to a temporary directory.
UnZip datadex.zip making sure that the agility.ini is placed
in the WINDOWS DIRECTORY and the *.vbx and *.dll files are placed in the
WINDOWS/SYSTEM DIRECTORY.
NOTE: "c:\windows\system" MUST be included in your PATH statement in your
autoexec.bat file.... very important!!
If the "windows" directory is called "win" or if your "windows" directory
is on a different drive like "e:\windows" then you'll need to edit
the "agility.ini" with your notepad program or any ascii text editor
the section that follows;
[Classes]
dBASEengine=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\agidbase.dll
to something like;
[Classes]
dBASEengine=C:\WIN\SYSTEM\agidbase.dll
or
[Classes]
dBASEengine=E:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\agidbase.dll
The agility.ini file tells the program where to find the "agidbase.dll"
This is very IMPORTANT , the program will not run properly if this is not
done... Please make sure the "agility.ini file in placed in your WINDOWS
DIRECTORY !!!
The *.dbf , *.dbt and *.mdx MUST be in the same directory where the main
program file (datadex.exe) is located along with the standalone exe files
and the datadex.wri file. The StandAlone exe's files are;
datebook.exe - StandAlone Appointment Program
datatodo.exe - StandAlone ToDo Program
datalog.exe - StandAlone PhoneLog Program
datadate.exe - StandAlone Important Dates Program
The StandAlone Programs will automatically become enabled when the main
DataDex/3D Program is Registered...
This Program uses the Font "MS Sans Serif" on Start-Up. If you dont
have this Font then in the win.ini file look for the SECTION Below
and type;
[FontSubstitutes]
MS Sans Serif=Times New Roman
Or
MS Sans Serif=MS Serif
Or
Substitute any Font that you have... Times New Roman works well
with this Program. Once the program runs you can go to the
Font Screen in the program and set-up Fonts to your liking..
Also on Program Start-Up you will be prompted for certain information until
the program is registered. You will be prompted for;
1-ComPort = The ComPort that your modem is hooked up too (1,2,3, or 4)
2-Local AreaCode = Your AreaCode. Like mine is 702
3-Your Country Spelled In English = If you in the United States enter USA
4-Your International Direct Access Code = This would be 011 if you live in
the USA or Canada.
5-Your International Collect Access Code = This would be 01 if you live in
the USA or Canada.
If you don't know your International Collect Access Code then all this means
is that you would not be able to use the Auto Dialer to make a International
Collect Call..
These prompts will not be repeated once the program is registered and are
neccessary for the Auto Dialer to function properly.
All dates must be entered is the U.S. Format of MMM DD, YYYY (Jul 04,1993).
If you omit the Year like (Jul 04) then the current year will be assumed.
Alway enter the day part of the Date as a two digit number like 01 or 02 etc
Times Must be entered as 1:00 pm or 10:00 am ....
Please read DATADEX.WRI for further information.
I would appreciate and comments or suggestions you may have to make
this a better program.
Thank You
Gene Lucio
