SHARE WARE!- According to law, you may only keep shareware on your machine
for 30 days, then you must register. I personnally don't care how long you
keep the shareware version of BOB. Once you have played the three levels in
the demo, there isn't much more to do. Please read this text to find out how
to get all 60 levels.
BOB and his Amazing Journey Home(tm)
═════════════════════════════════════
Story-
BOB was living a simply life at home. He'd seen few humans in his long life
and was always quit friendly when they came to visit. After all, you don't
see many folks when you live in the Artic. But the last fellow who came
to visit him was not the kind of human BOB expected. BOB was taken captive
and manipulated by this man in ways I can't describe here.
Bob wakes up to sirens screaming in a cold gray cell. He can't remember who
or even what he is. He does notice one thing... The door is open. Being the
resourceful fellow that he is, he uses the door. He finds himself trapped
in a maze of blocks and lazers with pits of funny colored water all over.
All BOB knows is that he must get out of this maze and get home.. wherever
that may be...
═════════════════════════════════════
Tech-
BOB runs 640x480x256 (Vesa). I have found a few machines that wouldn't
support him, but most SVGA cards won't have any trouble. He doesn't use
much memory and can be run from windows. I evan drew a little icon if you
wish to use it. It is nice to have a fast machine. I wrote BOB on a 486dx33.
I put an option for speed in the option menu. You might wish to slow him down
a little if you have a REALLY fast machine, otherwise, I'd just leave him at
top speed.
BOB was written in Pascal 7.0. All graphic routines are BGI. Well, all
but one. The source code is now distributed with the registered version
of BOB, however, it is not very well written or documented and could be
very difficult to understand.
═════════════════════════════════════
Registering
BOB was a learing project for me. I started it over a year ago and I am
still constantly making changes. I ask for 8 dollars for registration plus
2 for S/H. If you send me an SE envolope (the kind you put disks in, ask at
your post office) and a disk, its just 8 bucks. With the registered version,
you get 60 (instead of 3) levels and alot of story scenes that tell the tale
of BOB's journey home. Along the way, Bob will regain his memory and discover
why he was kidnapped. Also included with the registered version will be the
source code and the editor. Niether the source or the editor are documented
and will never be. They are an added bonus to the package.
Just 8 dollars plus 2 for S/H or 8 dollars and a disk & envelope.
(you gotta include postage)
