DARN-IT
=======
Darn-iT! is a mind-bending puzzler for Windows 3.1 and Win 95.
It features 256 colors, nifty graphics, 8-bit sound and music.
It needs VBRUN300.DLL which can be obtained from any FTP site,
BBS, or from the Microsoft Software Library. (Chances are that
you already have VBRUN300.DLL on your computer).
This game is FREE-WARE. If you paid even one cent for
this game, you should go and demand you money back and totally
blacklist the person who sold this game to you.
This game was designed and created from scratch in less than a
day.
GAME PLAY
=========
The Darn-iTs are coming out of the sewers and it's your
job to stop them. Click on a Darn-iT to push it back into
the manhole. Click on a man-hole to pop out the Darn-iT it
contains. But wait! That's not all. The Darn-iTs have a
cunning strategy to vex you. Every time you push or pop a
Darn-iT, the Darn-iT sends a secret message to the other
Darn-iTs on its left, right, top, and bottom, telling them
to toggle their state. As a result, every click effects
anywhere from 3 to 5 Darn-iTs.
Your objective is to work out a strategy for putting all the
Darn-iTs into their manholes. This is way harder than it
sounds. Go ahead and try your luck at saving the world from
the Darn-iTs.
When you start Darn-iT or select the New Game option, the
computer sets up a playing field with all Darn-iTs in their
manholes and then scrambles it using random movements.
Theoretically, then, every game has at least one solution.
(Though you may not believe this once you start playing).
Remember the more you play, the easier it will be for you to
see patterns and plan strategies.
Darn-iT Menu Options
====================
The following are the menu options for Darn-iT:
File Menu
New Game : Starts New Game
Solve Game : When you are totally frustated and dont
believe the game can be solved, use this
option to solve the game.
Quit : Ends the Game
Options Menu
Randomness : Randomness is the number of random moves
the computer makes to set up a new game. For
example, if you select Randomness = 1, the
computer makes only 1 random move to set up
a new game. This is obviously a very easy game.
The higher the randomness value, the less likely
you will be to solve the game easily.
Sound : Toggles sound on and off
Undo Last Move : Undoes the last move. This is a multiple
undo feature and can be used to step right back
to the solution. Use it as a hint feature.
Help Menu
How to play : Pops up this file
About : Pops up an about box.
Controls
========
Use a mouse to click on the Darn-iTs. Use the menu options to
control the game.

This game uses 256 color graphics and will not play in any other
