UNICORN QUEST (for DOS) - Typing Tutor Game
Unicorn Quest is a typing tutor program written as a game. The objective is
to increase typing skills while questing for a missing unicorn.
The program has three levels: typing letters, typing words, and typing
sentences. Each level has three stages of difficulty. You can type at
beginner stage, advanced stage, and expert stage. After you have finished
level 1, at any stage of difficulty, you can go on to level 2.
One-handed typing:

Beginner Stage - letters 5 words per minute, words 10 wpm, sentences 10 wpm
Advanced Stage - letters 10 wpm, words 20 wpm, sentences 20 wpm
Expert Stage - letters 20 wpm, words 30 wpm, sentences 30 wpm
Two-handed typing:
------------------
Beginner Stage - letters 10 words per minute, words 20 wpm, sentences 30 wpm
Advanced Stage - letters 20 wpm, words 30 wpm, sentences 40 wpm
Expert Stage - letters 30 wpm, words 40 wpm, sentences 50 wpm
PRINTING CERTIFICATES
---------------------
To see what stages you have completed, go to the Print Certificate screen.
(You can use the arrow keys to get there, or just press C.) Then press Enter,
and you will see each certificate that you have earned. While you are on this
screen, press ENTER to print the highlighted certificate. To leave the screen
without printing a certificate, press ESC.
STAGES OF DIFFICULTY
--------------------
To switch between stages of difficulty, go to Select Program Settings.
If you want to get the most out of this program, when you have finished
Levels 1 to 3 at the Beginner Stage, you will start again at the Advanced
Stage. To do this, go into Select Program Settings. Change the difficulty to
Advanced, and the level to Letters. Then start the first level again, and you
will have to achieve a higher speed. The animal reward pictures are different
at each level, though the final rewards are the same.
After you have finished level 3 once, you can also go to the Practice Area
and practice typing the story. The program will remember how far through the
story you are, so you can eventually type (and read) the whole story of the
quest for the unicorn.
