  155.     retaining all the pevious information and options but with many
  156.     improvements and new features:

  179. How To Use SwazInfo

  181.     SwazInfo may be configured by either setting the icon ToolTypes
  182.     or by CLI arguments. See @{" Configuration " LINK Config }.
  183.     When SwazInfo is enabled when you select "Information" from the
  184.     "Icon" menu on Workbench an alternative Information window is
  185.     used (provided the icon type is known).
  186.     Currently only the following workbench object types are supported:
  187.         WBDISK, WBDRAWER, WBGARBAGE, WBPROJECT, WBTOOL
  188.     Unsupported workbench object types:
  189.         WBDEVICE, WBKICK, WBAPPICON
  190.         o These may be provided in a later release of SwazInfo.
  191.     The interface to each of the supported object types has been designed
  192.     to resemble the original workbench information function.

  197. To configure SwazInfo either change the tooltypes or command line
  198. arguments. Supported arguments/tooltypes are:
  199.     Standard Commodity arguments:
  200.       CX_POPKEY
  201.       CX_POPUP
  202.       CX_PRIORITY
  203.     Specific to SwazInfo:
  204.       FONT          - the name and size of the font to use for gadgets.
  205.                       If not specified then the default system front is used.
  206.                       Eg. FONT="topaz 8"
  207.       CENTERED      - If set then when information windows are opened they
  208.                       will start in the center of the display. If not set then
  209.                       the are opened in the top left of the display. The
  210.                       default for this is FALSE.
  211.       TITLEDELAY    - Number of seconds to display messages in the window title
  212.                       before reverting to the normal window title. The default
  213.                       is 3 seconds.
  214.       TOOLS         - This is a list of default tools that are available when
  215.                       the user clicks on the `Common Default Tools' button.
  216.                       (This is alongside the string gadget for the default tool,
  217.                       and will be disabled if no default tools are available).
  218.                       Eg. To add the tool `MyTool' and `AnotherTool' as default
  219.                           tools:
  220.                                    TOOLS="MyTool,AnotherTool"
  221.                       Several default tools are already defined in SwazInfo, they
  222.                       are used if you do not specify a tools list.
  223.                       You can request that you use the internal tools list as
  224.                       well as your list by setting the first character of your
  225.                       list to "+". Eg. TOOLS="+MyTool,AnotherTool"
  226.                       The internal default tools are:
  227.                                   installer,multiview
  228.       NOCHECKOWNER  - if this switch is set then there will be no check made to
  229.                       see if the file is modifiable. Default is FALSE.
  230.       DROPACTION    - This sets the action to perform when an icon is dropped in
  231.                       the information window of another icon, but not in the
  232.                       image box or tooltypes listview. Possible values are:
  233.                         ASK, CANCEL, LOADIMAGES, LOADTOOLTYPES, OPENINFORMATION
  234.                       Default is DROPACTION=ASK
  235.       CLIPBOARDUNIT - specified the clipboard unit number to use. Defaults to 0.
  236.       SAVEDIR       - default directory to save images to. Defaults to `Ram:'
  237.       LOADDIR       - default directory to load images from. Defaults to `Ram:'
  238.       CREATEICONS   - should icons be created when images are saved? Default = NO.
  239.                       If yes, SwazInfo will use the "env:sys/dev_ilbm.info" icon
  240.                       for saved image, if not available then the default type
  241.                       will be used.
  242.       SIZEFORMAT    - using this you can force SwazInfo to display sizes of disks
  243.                       and directories in bytes, kilobytes or megabytes. Default
  244.                       mode is ANY, and will use bytes for sizes less than 1K,
  245.                       kilobytes for sizes less than 10 megabytes and megabytes
  246.                       for sizes any greater. Valid options are ANY B K or M.
  247.       MULTIVIEW     - full path name to multiview. The default setting for this is
  248.                       "SYS:Utilities/Multiview". This is currently used for the
  249.                       'Show Clip...' menu option and is passed arguments of
  250.                       "CLIPBOARD CLIPUNIT=#" (where # is the clipboard unit being
  251.                       used by SwazInfo, see CLIPBOARDUNIT).
  252.       VALIDTYPECHANGE - if set to TRUE then you may only change an icon type to a
  253.                       'valid' alternative type. ie. A tool may be chanaged to a
  254.                       project, or a drawer into a garbage icon. Default setting
  255.                       for this is FALSE.
  256.       PROTECTIONBITS - if set to FALSE then provided MultiuserFileSystem is not
  257.                       installed the cycle gadget to select Group and Other RWED
  258.                       protection bits will not be present. The default setting is
  259.                       TRUE. Ignored if @{" MultiuserFileSystem " LINK MUFS} found.
  260.       APPICON_SWAZINFO - filename of the icon to be used as an app-icon to invoke
  261.                       the information requestor. If this tooltype is not provided
  262.                       then there will be no app-icon available. If this tooltype
  263.                       is provided and either the filename is null or the file
  264.                       could not be loaded then the SwazInfo icon will be used
  265.                       if SwazInfo was run from workbench, otherwise the default
  266.                       appicon icon will be used. Default = No app-icon.

  269.       APPICON_ALIGN_X - filename of the icon to be used as an app-icon to align the

  284.     SwazInfo may add up to three app-icons to the workbench window called:
  285.       o SwazInfo  - display information on dropped icon

  288.     Double clicking on any of the app-icons will display the about window.
  289.     You may show/hide the app-icons with a hotkey.

  306.       o May drop an icon into the Default Tool string gadget.

  334.     SwazInfo adds an arexx port to the system named "SWAZINFO" you may
  335.     use the following commands to control certain features:
  336.     QUIT  - will try to remove SwazInfo from the system.
  337.     SHOW  - displays the SwazInfo about window.
  338.     HIDE  - hides the about window.
  339.     FILE  - You specify the filename of the icon to be viewed, you can
  340.             also give a public screen name to open on. You must give the
  341.             full path to the icon.
  342.             Eg. To view the icon named "Workbench:System/Format" send the
  343.                 arexx command string:

  345.                 or using arexx from cli: (don't forget the ")

  405.        SwazInfo creates a public semaphore named "SwazInfo" with which
  406.        you may interface to the swazinfo/WBInfo() function and/or read
  407.        various fields in the swazinfoBase structure.
  408.        Once you have called ObtainSemaphore() you should increment
  409.        @{" sis_OpenCount " LINK "SwazInfo.i/MAIN" 0} and call ReleaseSemaphore(). This way you can
  410.        safely call SwazInfo/WBInfo() without fear of it going away.
