Dear Readers,
The MPEG anim omega.mpg was created on an Amiga A1200,
Blizzard 1230 IV, 4MB, 50 Mhz FPU and 80 MB HDD using the following
software :
Lightwave 3.5
ImageFX 2
Photogenics v1
Flam -PD flame generator
Dechunk - PD file splitter for amiga/PC/UNIX
The animation needs to be played back at 15fps. You need a pretty
fast Amiga to do so, my setup plays it at about 4fps!!!
All objects, except the "stars" and the "planet" were created by
myself using Lightwave.
I have been using the Amiga for about 4 years now and have been
doing 3D for about 1-2 years (since Imagine coverdisk, nice one ;) ).
It is only recently that I have started to take it seriously, and this
is my first major animation. It took about 4-5 months to build all the
objects, setup the scenes's and to render everything out. The final
frame_count was 1111, just about fitted on my harddirve. I am looking
for work in the games industry, preferably making games for the Amiga.
I would very much appreciate any feedback regarding my animation work or
prospective employment. As this will enable me to judge if I should
upgrade my system to a more powerful one.
