Magic Mushroom Shareware Demo
*****************************
Designed and programmed by A.Lavoipierre
Type GO to run the demo
INSTRUCTIONS
------------
When you start the game, you will be presented with a zone select
screen. After choosing a zone, you will then see the main title screen
(just press any key to get past this). The object of this "platform" game
is to guide a red and white spotted mushroom around a number of levels and
collect special bonus gems. Some levels have treacherous spikes and evil
little grey toadstools which get in your way, so you will need sharp reflexes
and a logical mind to complete the game.
There are about 50 levels in this test version - to complete each you
must collect 5 gems. The gems are distributed randomly across the level.
When you collect one, another appears until you have collected all 5.
To make things difficult, you die if you collide with one of the grey
toadstools or if you fall off the bottom of the screen.
The controls are:
ALT jump
LEFT SHIFT move left
RIGHT SHIFT move right
Note that these keys are dynamic - so the longer you hold one down,
the faster you will move in a certain direction. There are a few other
features built into the control system, but they will become apparent when
you play the game.
To quit the game, press escape.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
-------------------
This is a shareware version of Magic Mushroom, so while it can be
distributed freely, I would like to make a few points:
1) You can register for the small fee of 10 pounds (or US equivalent),
and for this you will get another 50 extra levels with entirely new graphics
and a mouse driven full screen level editor (allows you to create your own
"episodes").
To register, send a cheque or money order for £10 made payable to
Andre Lavoipierre to the address below. (The game is only available on 3.5
inch high density disks.)
All registered users will be sent updates and demos of future
products.
Andre Lavoipierre,

2) The shareware version of the game can be passed around to friends,
uploaded to BBSs etc. as long as the following files remain intact...

FOREST.LVL
OASIS.LVL
INFERNO.LVL
README.DOC
INTRO.VGA
ZONESLCT.VGA
FILE_ID.DIZ
GO.EXE
FOREST.VGA
INFERNO.VGA
OASIS.VGA
3) Magic Mushroom requires VGA, and it will hang if you try to run it
on a non - VGA system.
