A pungent spice, the dried ripe fruit of the
plant Coriandoam sativum, a member of the
parsley family. It is used commercially as a
flavouring in meat products, bakery goods,
tobacco, gin, and curry powder. Coriander is
much used in cooking in the Middle East,
India, Mexico, and China.
